ten major highlights of the week:

1.  the thrift store selection was kind to me and i scored some extra cool stuff.  i shall be revisiting in the near future.

2.  not all spider web decoration stuff is the same.  i had gotten the cheap stuff because i thought that all that web junk was equatable in quality. oh my - i was wrong.  while decorating for the church party, it all became a total mess and wouldn’t stay put.  luckily, someone who had gotten the “good stuff” helped me out and totally gave me some.

3.  greenbriar is evil.  i was well acquainted witht the stuff this week while tromping through walls of it for work.  i have deep scratches to prove it.  (shaking fist at thorns…)

4.  small children in halloween costumes are super cute – no matter how many times you see them.  there were these two babies in a wagon dressed like chickens last night.  i admit it – i went “aw…” inside.

5.  i vow to dress up as something next year for halloween and actually have fun.

6.  riding around with someone late at night and exploring the far reaches of the metroplex is really awesome.

7.  days seem longer when you’re counting down to something.

8.  nothing makes you feel better like two girlfriends, some chips and salsa, and endless dr. pepper.

9.  multiple bunny sightings.  they’re just everywhere right now.  i wonder if they’re all having some type of rabbit conference in the area or something.

10.  note to self:  visit playgrounds more often.  i forgot how much i love to swing.

i made a grand discovery this weekend – batting cages are the most awesome things in the world (thank you pam and jeromy).  who could have guessed that god’s most uncoordinated creature would have enjoyed them so?  there’s just something about using a stick to whack something that makes me feel all bubbly inside.

this sunday was mom’s sunday to teach the women’s group at church and bacon literally ate her lesson.  it was nuts – and i just felt awful about the whole thing.  but bacon’s asleep at my feet right now snoring.  crazy dog.  i wonder what she dreams about…

this weekend, i had my awesome aunt in town which was mega fun. also – i helped out with canstruction a bit at the northeast mall. canstruction is where a bunch of companies build sculptures using canned goods and they get judged and stuff and then all of the food goes to an area food bank. we did a space shuttle and it turned out decent. i helped out with the bottom chunk of it and then had to jet early. it was cool, though – and it takes way longer than one might think. for the next week – people who go to the northeast mall can buy a “vote” for a dollar and vote on which sculpture they like the best…

(thank you, karlos, for showing me how to post a picture right) so sad that the highlight of my weekend is CANS. nar. i’ve really got to change that.

bacon is looking at me like it’s time for bed already. she’s crazy, i tell you. man – it’d be awesome to be her – she sleeps for like 20 hours a day it seems!

i was scrolling through the online news the other day and a headline read something to the effect that black holes have a hand in making stars. and i didn’t read the article or anything, but i just kinda thought how maybe sometimes that’s true with our lives. some of my best “stars” in my life have come from unlikely “black holes.” something like that anyways. i remember physics and how my professor was really into astronomy. there was one lecture in which he thoroughly explained all this stuff and it ended up that we were all made out of star matter – i hope i’m not botching that. i wish i had paid more attention to that ’cause it’d be a really neat way to sound smart right about now.

came home from work early today b/c i feel like i’ve been hit by a truck. i’m not SICK-sick – but i’m sick to the point where i can’t stay awake or focus at work and i’m constantly having a low grade fever. stupid texas weather change. nar.

SO – if YOU’RE having a bad day, too, click here to see bunny suides. freakin’ hilarious (in a morbid way). maybe the decongestant drugs i’m on make me derive too much enjoyment from these bunnies.

oh look, now, there you go with hope again October 6, 2005

i just tried to post a blog and it gave me an error message and i got very perturbed. so let’s try this again from the top…

i’m into my eleventh hour of work for the day. i really don’t mind long days all that much – if i know ahead of time that they’re going to be long. but today was crazy with meetings and new assignments and before i knew it – everyone left but the deadlines stayed behind. with me. and when it all got to “leaving time” this afternoon – i found that my day had just begun. but that’s all right – situations like these for me are few in occurance, so i’m just having an office space moment right now.

i was driving along this afternoon (from a meeting), and for NO reason at all, i got this amazing random burst of pure joy. i just started smiling and almost was to the point of tears. (looking back now, it may have been from deliriousness from the work i had just received) it was totally weird and – for that moment in time – i had the feeling like something really cool is going to happen for me. and it was nice. but in a strange way. my cheeks have been pink since. and now i’m tired from all the excitement.

the cooler weather has been AWESOME and i’m totally eating it up. but with the cold comes the “getting sick” season. this year, i pledge to spread the random message of phone cleaning. do you know how many germs live in your phone? tons. and i’m not even a germ freak by any means. a quick swab of an alcoholic wipey can go a long way in preventing illness. plus – you have to dig that residual smell afterwards. (SO joking) if anything, it’ll make your phone smile. and who wouldn’t want that?
